What a wonderful God we serve! The month of May brought yet another direct miracle from God, and He used one of you to provide that miracle.
During the month of April our children were home at the Centre for holiday between Term One and Term Two of school. I was waiting to hear from our Administrator as to how much money was needed for our 70 + children’s school fees, besides the school supplies, dorm supplies, staff stipends, travel for all the students etc… When it was time for me to send the monthly designation transfer to Kenya, I found myself about $8,000 short from getting all the students back into school. I thought, no problem this is not uncommon to be short every month, although this was a bit more excessive, then prior months. So as is my custom when we are short, I prayed and went back through all the accounts again and as per usual I found more in the accounts. So, I prayed again and of course found a bit more. I found $3,000 more that would be sent over. But no matter how many times I prayed and went back over the accounts, I could not find anymore. So once again I prayed and said, “Okay, Lord, I am $5,000 short, thank you for providing what you have given already and for what you are going to do. I am going to send over what I have and wait for the rest.”
On Friday morning, April 28, I received a call from our MDPEC Manager, he asked if I had sent the money because the children were to leave for school the following Tuesday, May 2. I told him I had sent everything that I could and to please give me until Monday, May 1. He said okay, just so you know, the children and staff have been praying that God will provide and we will continue praying over the weekend.
Monday morning came, after spending the morning with my sisters, mother and step-father while my mom had minor surgery, I was getting ready to go back to the MDP office. My step father said, “go get that check now.” I told him, “Yes, I am on my way to get it right now.” As I drove to the post office, I prayed. “Lord, even if that check is not there, I am still going to praise you and thank you for it anyway.” I got out of the car, walked into the post office, opened the box and there were just a couple of envelopes. The last one I took out, I opened and yes, there it was, a check for $5,000. The exact amount that was needed. You can imagine the thanksgiving that was going on in the MDP office that day! By Tuesday morning the money was transferred and as of today, all the children are back in school, the staff was paid, the supplies were purchased and we are continuing. I looked at the check date, it was written on April 25, just in time to arrive on the 1st of May, our deadline. While we were still praying God was working on the heart of one of our donors and their response was exactly on time.
Thank you to each one of our partners who help keep our children in school, those who sponsor children, sponsor pastors and give for the most needed area. Each of you are answering a call and need. I pray that God will abundantly bless each of you as you go through this next month, knowing that you are continuing to “Change Lives In Kenya, One Child At a Time.”
Until Next Month,
