Where Needed Most

Your gift to the General Student Fund can help provide food, housing, healthcare, education, and other daily necessities to help fulfill the mission of raising up children to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14).

General Girls Fund

MDP Lay Pastors in Kenya are the very heartbeat from which all other activities stem. They teach families about God and in return see the Holy Spirit work in people doing away with myths and early childhood marriage. Pastors’ needs are transportation, food, and materials to share.

General Lay Pastor Fund

General Lay Pastor Fund

Separate from the General Lay Pastor’s Fund, pastors are often left with no place to stay in the community they are serving. Because so many villages are remote, some houses are built of mud and some with iron sheets.

MDP Lay Pastors provide weekly radio programs on “Sidai FM Radio”, broadcasting bible studies and providing answers to questions from listeners in remote communities throughout Maasailand. As a result, several churches have been established. MDP continues to receive requests for pastors to be sent to new areas.

Young Maasai girls have very few rights and are often forced to endure female genital mutilation (FGM) and early marriage. MDP provides these girls with a safe environment to live in our Maasai Development Education Centre (MDPEC). Before being received into MDPEC, the Government Child Protection Agency requires each child has a medical/health check, and is registered with the Agency before being transported to the care and safety of MDPEC. All expenses are paid by MDP, along with personal needs, clothing, shoes, school uniforms and supplies.

As new churches are started, there is a need for Bibles in their own language. MDP Lay Pastors are able to share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who are in distant villages. Your gift will provide many homes to learn more about the life of Jesus and his mission to the world.

New churches meet under trees. As the congregation grows, a permanent church building is necessary for shelter during the rainy seasons and protection from the hot sun rays.

It is so important to educate the community, men and women, in the health issues and dangers of FGM and Domestic Violence. We sponsor Maasai professionals in health and education to hold seminars in the Maasai community.

Our Lay Pastors also hold literacy classes for the adults in the community. As more and more children are being educated, the adults are realizing their need of education in literacy.

We have an ongoing medical fund for any medical needs for the children such as colds, flus, infections, and other common illnesses.

MDP helps to provide desks for the children in some of the small surrounding community schools. Recently MDP came across a school where children are writing and testing on the cement floor. Likewise, teachers have no desk but whatever is available.

School Desk Fund

School Desk Fund

One of the challenges for many schools is the lack of pit latrines. Unfortunately, the playground is also used for personal use. So we are looking to help as many of the struggling schools as we can to provide a healthy environment for the children to learn and play. It takes about $3000 to build a two stall pit latrine for each school. The holes are hand dug 25-30 feet deep with permanent stone walls.
